PURPOSE

this function is a very much simplified version of sortSpikesOnline.m

SYNOPSIS

function assigned = assignSpikesToClusters(baseSpikes, IDs, allWaveforms, stdEstimate)

DESCRIPTION

this function is a very much simplified version of sortSpikesOnline.m
It takes a number of precomputed cluster centers and assigns each spike to them, if they
are within the threshold. all others are assigned to noise. no new clusters are removed/merged.

This function is called by:

reassignToFixedClusters this file is used to re-assign all detected waveforms on a channel to a set of pre-defined cluster centers. no new clusters are created.
